Best Practices, Smarter Business Development, & Sustainability

Insights from Nordic PropTech Awards jury member Helle Wallentin, Head of Communications & Recruitment at COOR, in conversation with PropTech Denmark’s Communications Lead, Stine Grønnegaard.

We are thrilled to announce Coor as a partner for the Nordic PropTech Awards 2025. We took the opportunity to catch up with Helle Wallentin, Head of Communications and Recruitment at Coor about the business case for engaging in partnerships with proptech solutions, the role that proptech plays today – and what keeps her awake at night.

The (R)evolution of Proptech

Thank you for your efforts on the jury and for taking the time to have this talk, Helle. As a jury member for the Nordic PropTech Awards 2025, you had the opportunity to see some of the most innovative tech-solutions available today. As you see it, what role does proptech play in the real estate industry today – and looking into the future?

Proptech is revolutionizing the real estate sector by integrating advanced technologies to enhance efficiency, transparency, and user experience. Today, it streamlines property management, facilitates data-driven decision-making, and offers innovative solutions.

Looking ahead, proptech will continue to drive sustainable practices, optimize resource utilization, and foster smarter industry development, aligning the industry with evolving technological landscapes.

Strengthening the Whole Industry

Speaking for the 4 Nordic proptech associations, we are absolutely thrilled to have Coor as a  partner. What is the value for you – and the wider proptech ecosystem – in this partnership?

Partnering with the Nordic PropTech Awards 2025 underscores Coor´s commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability within the real estate industry. By supporting the Nordic proptech community, Coor aims to collaborate with forward-thinking startups that are developing solutions to current and future challenges.

This partnership is crucial as it accelerates the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, promotes best practices, and strengthens the industry's capacity to meet evolving market demands.

Innovating Sustainable Practises

Supporting the wider ecosystem, for instance by partnering with Nordic PropTech Awards, really is a win-win situation for everyone. Taking a slightly broader view, what opportunities with proptech and real estate innovation are you most excited about?

We are particularly excited about proptech solutions that enhance sustainability and operational efficiency, such as smart building management systems and energy optimization technologies.

To leverage these opportunities, Coor actively collaborates with proptech startups, integrating innovative solutions into our services to deliver smarter, more sustainable facilities management. An example of this is our collaboration with Ejendom.com. This collaboration not only improves client satisfaction and -experience but also contributes to our overarching goal of a more sustainable industry.

Challenge Yourselves – and your Stakeholders

Partnership with mutual benefits really can drive the change for a more sustainable and future ready real estate industry. But it’s no secret that we are not quite there yet. What keeps you awake at night about the challenges within the built environment – and how should the industry address these challenges?

What keeps me awake in general is the pressing challenge of achieving sustainability in the built environment. I think that the industry must embrace proptech solutions that promote energy efficiency, reduce carbon footprints, and facilitate the creation of smart, sustainable buildings

We have to challenge ourselves and our stakeholders to adopt and implement these technologies to drive meaningful change.

Thank you for sharing your insights, Helle. We are looking very much forward to seeing you at the Nordic PropTech Awards 2025 finals in Copenhagen on March 6th!
